Bad news on the western front

I went to the doctor today. My hand has been killing me for the last four days, and I've been wearing a wrist brace the entire time. The prognosis? I sprained a tendon in my left hand.

So now I'm not allowed to lift heavy objects, or put any strain on it at all for two whole weeks. It's my left hand. I'm a continental knitter.

So, in conclusion, I'm not allowed to knit for two whole weeks. Normally I'm the kind of person who bends the rules a little bit, but I've tried knitting. Even using my right hand to hold the yarn, it is still painful. Since I want to knit for the considerable future, I need to baby this sprain so it won't acy up later.

It's going to be an interesting couple of days.
