Why I hate the new Bloglines

Oh new Bloglines, I already despise you. You lull me into a false sense of security with empty promises about migrating my feeds over to your new platform. Then you give me a list three pages long full of feeds you can't move over. These feeds do exist; old Bloglines handled them superbly for several years. Yet you tell me I need to add them in manually. You might have a way to import the xml file and mend your evil ways, but I don't like you enough to bother trying.

If that's how you're going to behave, then we must discontinue all association with one another. We're through.

Anyone know of a better blog reader?

ETA: Try Google Reader. With a few customizations, it's 100 times better than the new Bloglines. It imported all my feeds automatically, with no glitches.

I'm glad it's not just me that hates the new Bloglines. I had the same experience with the blogs that it couldn't import, and now it persists in telling me that posts are new when I've already read them, and marked them as read ... I also hate the interface, I might as well go fine a different reader. So disappointed. Oh well. This comment isn't very useful, except as commiseration. :)

P.S. The thing I've never found with any other blog reader is the "keep as new" checkbox, which I loved in Bloglines. If I saw something interesting, but didn't have time to read it yet, I just checked it. Now I'm just afraid I'll miss something.

Thanks for the commiseration! I was really disappointed with the new format. I've switched to Google Reader and am much happier. It always shows the first 5-10 most recent posts of each site you're tracking, no matter if they're new or not. However, it will not tell you they are new unless they really are new. Most fabulously of all, they have a very nice 'Mark all as read' button for each feed.

Courtney - I've found that with a few customizations, I'm happy with Google Reader. I'm considering writing a post on how to customize Google Reader so that it's easier to read.
